This is my 'fast food' 10 minute dinner. So easy that you can give the recipe to other family members to make if you need a night off cooking...
Ingredients
Oil for frying
1 Tbsp grated ginger
3 cloves chopped garlic
1 diced onion
1/2 bunch chopped shallots, white part only
1 tin water chestnuts, finely chopped
500g turkey mince (or chicken/duck/pork or a combo)
1 Tbsp sesame oil
2 Tbsp tamari
1 tsp chilli flakes or fresh chopped chilli
A pinch of Chinese five spice (if you have it)
Lettuce cups - cos or iceberg
Fresh chopped chilli and coriander
Crunchy fried shallots to serve (from the Asian section of the supermarket)
Instructions:
Pan fry ginger, garlic and onion for a few minutes.
Add shallots, water chestnuts, mince, sesame oil, tamari, chilli and Chinese Five Spice and fry until meat is well cooked.
Serve in lettuce cups topped with fresh chilli, coriander and crunchy fried shallots.
